Domaine Philippe Colin Chassagne-Montrachet Les Chênes 2020

De Pinot Noir is de laatste decennia bijna volledig vervangen door de lucratievere Chardonnay, maar vroeger was rode Chassagne zeer gegeerd. Slechts een handvol wijnbouwers produceren nog steeds rode wijn in deze gemeente. Philippe Colin maakt hier een erg mooie wijn die qua met zijn aroma's van rode bes en veenbes misschien wat doet denken aan de Côte de Nuits. Deze komt uit de wijngaard "Les Chênes", gelegen net onder premier cru "La Maltroie". De wijn rijpt op deels nieuwe eiken vaten. Veel waar voor uw geld hier!

Wine Advocate (Neal Martin): "The Chassagne-Montrachet les Chenes undergoes a long pre-fermentation maceration to counter the rusticity and also undergoes a two-week cuvaison. This came from a one-year-old barrel, although the final blend will have 30% new wood. It has ample redcurrant and cranberry scents on the nose and I admire the transparency and energy here. The palate is crisp and chalky on the entry with a keen line of acidity. This is less rustic than other red Chassagne-Montrachets that I have tasted, with a pleasant touch of soy on the finish."
