Vinous (Neal Martin): "The 2016 Grand-Pontet has an intense, opulent bouquet of black cherries, boysenberry and plenty of blue fruit, although it is missing some delineation and freshness. The palate is ripe on the entry and feels less weighty than the aromatics augur, but it is well balanced with fine acidity, tightening up toward quite a tannic finish. This is like two different wines in one bottle. It will be intriguing to see how this Saint-Émilion matures." 91/100
