Château des Bachelards Fleurie 2015

Begin 2014 kocht Comtesse Alexandra de Vazeilles het Château des Bachelards in Fleurie, één van de oudste en mooiste bezittingen van de Beaujolais met zeer oude stokken op pure graniet. Onmiddellijk werd geïnvesteerd het beste materiaal voor wijngaard en kelder en laat ze zich omringen door de besten in hun vak. Naast pépiniérist Lilian Bérillon en bodemkundige Claude Bourguignon, wordt ze voor vinificatie begeleidt door niemand minder dan Stéphane Derenoncourt. En de resultaten zijn er al vanaf het eerste jaar: met de 2014 scoren haar wijnen al bijzonder goed en met 2015 en (binnenkort) 2016 wordt dit domein door de internationale pers reeds tot de top van de regio gerekend, wat toch wel spectaculair mag genoemd worden!

So deep and so subtle, the major concentration of tannins on the palate wrapped in the finest velvet. Josh Reynolds in Vinous: "Based on the powerful yet graceful and balanced 2015s and equally fine but unfinished 2016s that Mme. de Vazeilles showed me when I visited in October I’d place this estate among the top Beaujolais producers today."

Vinous (Josh Reynolds): "Brilliant ruby. Bright and energetic on the nose, displaying fresh, mineral-tinged raspberry and candied violet scents that show very good clarity. Pure and seamless in texture, offering palate-staining red fruit and spicecake flavors that deepen with air while maintaining vivacity. There is a Chambolle-like quality to this wine that's awfully compelling. Fine-grained tannins sneak in very slowly on a long, sweet and seamless finish that emphatically repeats the floral and mineral elements." 93/100

De wijngaard in Fleurie is een Clos en omringt het Château. Zeer oude stokken van 60 tot 80 jaar staan hier op een terroir van puur verweerde roze graniet. Na manuele oogst en tri vergist de wijn in betonnen cuves en de cuvaison duurt zo'n 4 weken!, waarna de wijn nog 12 maanden rijpt, deels op stalen cuve en deels op demi-muids. Verfijnde, zachte, fruitige, complexe maar volle romige en gewoonweg onweerstaanbaar lekkere Fleurie met fluwelen tannines. Niet te missen!
